As from 1 January 2013, the “Gemeinsame Einrichtung KVG” (joint institution under the health insurance act) in Solothurn will perform various tasks for Canton Basel-Stadt as part of the review procedure for insurance obligations in the compulsory health insurance. The “Gemeinsame Einrichtung KVG” will now receive and answer queries concerning insurance obligations in individual cases as well as handling applications for exemption from cross-border commuters and people moving here.
